New Bra For Holiday Dresses

Hi All, as I blogged yesterday, I have been looking for a sensual but sophisticated holiday dress to wear (for Thanksgiving, Christmas, parties, or even maybe New Years Eve). I have found, from previous years….that it is very smart to buy a red, black, type dress…about this time of the year, as women shop early for the holiday dresses, and shoes. You will get to wear it so many times. As I told you, go to http://www.bostonproper.com if you’re looking for a really sensual but fabulous looking dress. I bought one on the cover and one other solid black. Okay, herewith the problem.
Most of the evening or cocktail, or dressy long dresses have a low front. What Bra to wear??
I was shocked, a normal bra is to high in the lower cut fronts of these dresses. So, I shopped on line to SOMA. They have the best. sexy, bras. For the lower cut dresses for any TG woman, I would suggest a push up bra, in black. Wear pads if needed. I recently lost about 10 pounds, so I am now a cup size lower, so I will be putting pads in my strapless bra too!
Try http://www.soma.com for great bras and panties. If the dress is short (two or three inches above the knee) shop for thigh highs that will STAY UP. You may have to pay a little more, but when you cross your legs while sitting, they will not come down.

If you have any holiday party or New Years party, start shopping now!!
I love shopping for bras!

Clothing Tips…for the tg woman

Colors Tips For The TG Woman, Which Helps You To Look Thin.

Will I be the focus if I wear this? If the outfit is the clear attention winner – pass it by.Some TG women wear clothing that is to sexy in public.
Do I feel a sense of confusion looking at this? Yes – pass it by.
Is it ugly? Yes – pass it by.
If I wear this will my best or worst features be highlighted? No need to give you the answer here.
Will I get my money worth in wearings from these pieces, or, it it a one season only look? One season – pass it by unless you have plenty of cash to spend.
Can they be separated to create other outfits?

To appear harmonious the colors and/or shapes within an outfit need to look as though they belong together.

Here are a few basic guidelines to follow:

If you are a novice max out at two patterns.
The busier or more complex the pattern/print, the better you are to coordinate it with a solid colored garment or a garment with a simple pattern or texture.g, pin stripe

When mixing prints and patterns look for a characteristic that you can use to unite the patterns. This may be a color (the easiest), the theme or design line.

Texture should be considered a pattern if the pattern is obvious when you stand 1 meter (3 feet) away from the garment.

Different textures are often easier to mix than different patterns.

One pattern should be dominant so the eye has a place to settle on first. And that place should be your best area given that’s where the focus will be.

Adding a solid color accessory or skin between patterns can lock them together and/or calm the overall effect.

Ask store assistants if there were other items that were designed to team with the garment you have chosen. Often designers put a story together that consists of several mix and match garments but always keep your in mind that every item in your wardrobe should go with at least three other items if they are to be a good purchase.

Winter Clothing Comes Into The Stores Sept 1 2013

Hello girls. Many of you have been asking about buying clothing. It is always best to purchase clothing at the beginning of each season, so items are not “picked over with few sizes”. Begin shopping for your winter clothing for cooler weather as early as Labor Day. You will see summer clothing at large discounts, as they want to clear out the summer clothing and make room for the Fall clothing. The same goes for shopping for Spring and Summer. You should begin shoppping for your summer clothing, at Easter.

Herewith a few tips for finding your new individual feminine style!

  • Exude your personal brand with style.  Get the inspiration and direction you’ve been longing for that modernizes and revitalizes [and in some cases actually discovers] your authentic personal image.
  • Be recognized by your consistent personal style.  With the right tools and mentoring to help you build confidence, you’ll be poised to attain your professional and personal goals.  Make stronger professional and social impressions, or get more positive attention from a romantic interest by developing, exuding, and being consistent with your personal style.
  • Have an ideal, current wardrobe that suits your personality, goals, and lifestyle.  Own and wear clothing that consistently supports your personal image and style, giving you the extra confidence and daily comfort to dress for any situation with ease.
  • You put your effort into looking great, not endless hours of shopping.  Managing your self-care is time consuming. If you have problems with selecting female clothing, hire an image consultant. Or, many stores such as Macy’s has a free, personal shopper. Tell them, your tg and considering transitioning, and you need help putting some pieces together. This is such a big help, as they know every piece of clothing in their store. I use them often, when I am shopping for myself or for a client!
  • So, prepare for your winter shopping. Boots, coats, warm caps, gloves, lots of accessories and not spending a lot of money on ONE outfit. With accessories, you can add this or that, and use the same black skirt or pants, with everything! For the beginner, i take my clients to a less expensive store, such as Marshalls, Ross, etc. until you establish your unique feminine style.
  • And, have fun!  Denae Doyloe

New Tape FingerNails….Perfect For One Day or More

Hello all, from Denae.

One of my biggest issues…is my nails. I have worn permanent nails for over 15 years, and have been forced to “give my real nails… a rest” as a demotologist said. So, as an image consultant….I went shopping and testing which press on nail is best…Glue on….Tape Press on….or both. What Brand, Kiss or Broadway. I use my hands a lot, as my right thumb and index (using keys) would always come off after a few hours into an event. I recently, gave up and have gone with my own, short nails with a clear polish. But, being a girlie girl, “I want my longer nails back”! Another image consultant told me about a new brand, so of course I bought several. They work! Ideal for one evening, or a weekend.

They are called Impress. They come packaged… in a clear finger nail bottle shape, with the nails inside. Peel off the tape of each nail and stick, press, and hold it on your nail. Easy on and easy off.

The shorter lengths work better and look more natural. For a TG woman, long, colored nails…are to much if you have large hands.

So, ladies…try a pair. I love them, and I can often use them twice by using masking tape doubled around so their is a sticky side all around, press the tape onto the bathroom sink tile, with one side on the tile and the other side up so you can store your nails for a second wearing.  For a second wearing, you will need to apply nail glue.

You can find them at most drug stores!

Perfect if your going out, but put your panty hose, and small clip on jewelry first, and leave your nails until last. Take a small bottle of nail glue in your purse, in case one comes off.

The bottle of nail glue is better anyway (instead of the messy tube of nail glue that comes in the box). The bottle of nail glue is clear and comes in a regular finger nail polish bottle!

The other two brands are Kiss and for wider nails…try Broadway.Use your finger tips and finger pads, and remember to have light, flowing hand movement. Keep rings to a medium size. Keep your sexy red hot colors….for your toes! Now, go and have fun!

Finding The Right Skirt For Your Figure

Hi Girls–We  found this great article on Wikihow on picking finding the right skirt for your figure. It was not written with TGs in mind but it has been so helpful to me that I thought I would share it with everyone. No matter your body shape, you will find this article helpful.

I will include an extract of the article here and if you like it you can follow the link the wikihow site. Have a happy Independence Day!

  • Short figure: The best skirts for short figures are tapered straight (slim) skirts and A-line skirts but avoid stiff A-lines as they can make you appear squat. Length should be around the knee; if it’s either too long or too short, the skirt can make you appear even shorter although if you have shapely legs, a shorter skirt can make them seem longer. Suitable styles include button-fronts and wraparound skirts, as long as they are not stiff. And off-center slit can help to elongate the legs. Vertical embellishments or detailing will also help create the feeling of length. Things to avoid include hem detail, mid-calf length skirts, patch pockets, and girly skirts.
  • Thick waist: If you have a thick waist, wear skirts that draw attention to your legs and away from the waist. Wear long and full skirts or short skirts. Avoid skirts with any embellishments around the middle, as these will draw attention to the waist.
  • Curvy figure: Skirts with subtle tapering are ideal, and A-lines and wraparounds are also suitable. Choose skirts with a flat front, side or back zippers, drop-waists or no waistband if you’ve a thick waist (or keep if you have a waist to show off), flat-textures with little stretch, and soft, fluid fabrics to float over curves. As with the short figure, an off-center slit can help draw attention to the legs and not the curves. Skirts to avoid include box styles, stiff fabrics, pleats, patch pockets, full styles, and any horizontal patterning. Don’t wear any skirts that are too tight.
  • Larger stomach: Wear lightly tapered pencil skirts and A-line skirts that drape. Avoid waistbands or remove them, avoid anything clinging or tight, bias cuts, pleats, wraps, darts in the front, gathered or bulky styles, and front pockets. Dark colors and flat textures are best. Don’t wear sarongs.
  • Boy-like figure: Skirts suitable for this type of figure include most styles although if you are concerned that your legs are too skinny, wear a long skirt with a slit or buttons on the front to increase the leg appeal. Pleating is good for slim hips and you can wear slanted pockets, patch pockets, gathering, belts, and thick waistbands. A small waist can be given added attention by the use of a wide belt.
  • Bottom-heavy figure: This figure is flattered by a moderate A-line style or loose, softly draped skirts, and wraps, and the good news is that skirts flatter your figure more than pants. A tapered knee-length skirt can work if it’s not too severe, and avoid waistbands. Details should be vertical, and prefer dark colors. Avoid pockets on the skirt, pleating all the way around, bias cuts or trims, Lycra fabric, hem detail, a lot of flare, or horizontal embellishment. Don’t wear any skirts that are too tight and avoid any skirts that have pleats above the hips.
  • Flat bottom: Wear Lycra fabrics, tight skirts, and bias-cut skirts.
  • Long waist, short legs: Select straight skirts to give your legs length. The best length for the skirt tends to be between mid-thigh and above the knee. A belt in the same color as the skirt can visually shorten the upper body. Wear short tops or jackets, tone the pantyhose with the skirt, and rely on vertical embellishments to give a sense of length.
  • Short waist, long legs: Look for skirts which are straight and have a dropped waist. Skirts that hip-hug or are low-rise, no waistband, and low-slung skirts are also a good choice. Tops that fall past the waistline can swallow up some of the leg-length and fluid skirt fabric can hide the short waist. Avoid anything on the skirt that interrupts the line of the top coming over the skirt (for example, pleats), belts that don’t blend in, high or wide waistbands, and horizontal detailing near the waist zone of the skirt.
  • Large thighs: This figure is flattered by skirts that are loose and drape or have soft pleats. Avoid wearing Lycra-blend narrow skirts.
  • Thick ankles: If you have thick ankles, skirts are best when long and loose and with above-the-ankle boots. Any skirt with hem detail, embellishment, or flare in the lower half will draw attention to the ankles, so avoid this.
